Memorable Manitobans: Robert Hamerton (1911-1990)

Athlete.

Born in Winnipeg, he attended city schools. He was a member of the Canadian Olympic swimming team in 1936, and he held many Canadian records. He also swam competitively as a senior and coached swimming for many years. He was employed at the Winnipeg Grain Exchange. He is a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
