Memorable Manitobans: Henry Francis “Frank” Hall (c1907-1990)

Historian, writer.

In the 1960s, he was a member of the Historical Committee of the Manitoba Centennial Corporation. In 1970, he was awarded a Manitoba Centennial Medal by the Manitoba Historical Society for “remarkably creative work in publicising and promoting the history of Manitoba over many years as a speaker, writer, editor and public relations officer, and for contributing to public awareness of local history over a considerable period.” He was married to Esme Vera Lee (?-1986) with whom he had four children. He later moved to Calgary, Alberta where he died on 18 May 1990 and was buried in the city’s Union Cemetery.
