Memorable Manitobans: William Fogel (1903-1991)Educator. Born in Russia on 22 August 1903, son of Harold Fogel and Bryna “Bertha” Fogel (c1878-?), he immigrated to Canada in 1906 and resided in Winnipeg at 666 Manitoba Avenue (1916). He became a teacher, working at Wellington School (1921-1930) after which he was Principal of Ashern School (1927-1928), Lundar School (1930-1931), and Austin School (1931-1937). He later retired and moved to British Columbia where he died, unmarried, at Vancouver on 5 July 1991. Sources:1916 Canada Census, Library and Archives Canada.
