Educator, contractor.
Born at Yorkton, Saskatchewan on 14 May 1922, son of Augustus Joseph Filion and Maude Olive Wheeler, he attended Normal School and became a teacher. He taught at Wintergreen School (1941-1942) and was Principal of Solsgirth School (1946-1947). He later became a contractor and moved to Parksville, British Columbia.
On 17 August 1946, he married fellow educator Anna Catherine Cosco (1924-1976) at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Winnipeg and they had two sons, one of whom was William Gregory “Greg” Filion (1951-2015). He died at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on 11 February 1984.
