Memorable Manitobans: Nicholas Patrick “Pat” Feschuk (1939-2024)

Engineer.

Born at Elie on 17 March 1939, son of Anne Marian (1918-1949) and railwayman Theodore “Fred” Feschuk (1907-1966), part of his childhood was spent at Clanwilliam and Sundown. At the age of 16, he moved to Winnipeg to attend high school and, after graduation, the University of Manitoba, graduating in 1962 with a degree in Civil Engineering.

He had a 30-year career in water management and construction with the Province of Manitoba then was the manager of the Equipment and Materials Services Branch with the City of Winnipeg. He served his profession as President of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba (1992).

He was married twice, first to Victoria “Vicki” Stadnyk (1941-1990) with whom he had two sons and second to Elizabeth “Liz” Feschuk.

He died at Winnipeg on 7 March 2024.
