Memorable Manitobans: Norman I. Corne (1916-1992)Physician. Born at Winnipeg on 24 April 1916, son of Bella and Isaac Corne, he graduated from the University of Manitoba Medical School in 1940. He practiced medicine in Winnipeg from 1941 to 1973, mostly in partnership with Dr. M. J. Lehmann. In 1973, he became the President of Manitoba Blue Cross, serving until poor health forced his retirement in 1984. He served as President of the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, President of the Young Mens Hebrew Association, Chairman of the Manitoba Medical Services, and Chairman of the United Way.
