Memorable Manitobans: Anne Alyce Uruski Chudy (?-2018)

Educator.

Daughter of Frank Uruski (1908-1982) and Mary Uruski (c1913-2000), she attended Normal School and received a teaching certificate in 1952. Her 36-year teaching career including terms at Stacpoole School (1950-1952), Dehowa School (1952-1953, 1962-1967), Leeland School (1955-1962), and Poplarfield School (1962-1988), and she was the Principal of the latter. On 12 July 1952, she married Joseph Chudy (1927-2001) and they had four daughters. She died at Winnipeg on 5 August 2018.
