Memorable Manitobans: Adeline Zaborniak Chorney (1921-2016)
Farmer.
Born at Highland Glen on 11 August 1921, daughter of Bill and Mary Zaborniak, she married Anton Chorney (1915-2000) on 28 June 1941 and they had three children. She and her husband were renowned for growing prize-winning potatoes that they exhibited at the Royal Winter Fair in Brandon and Toronto. In 2010, they were inducted jointly into the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame. She died at Selkirk on 28 October 2016.
