Farmer, municipal official.
Born at Mount Forest, Ontario on 17 April 1873, fourth son of Zachariah Brown (?-1918) and Elizabeth Philip (?-1917), he farmed with his father until 1905 when he married milliner Francis “Fanny” Sarah Readman (1875-1942). They took over the family farm and had five sons: Roy Wesley Brown, Thomas “Ott” Brown (1908-1966), Frank Brown (1910-?), Joseph Brown (1911-?), and Percy Brown (1915-?).
He served as Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Turtle Mountain (1915-1929). He was a member of the Riding Mountain Park Association until it was dissolved in 1933, after it became a national park. He was a member of the United Church, Conservative party, Orange Lodge (Grand Master, 1919-1920), and Odd Fellows.
He died suddenly at Brandon on 26 April 1949 and was buried in the Killarney Cemetery.
