Journalist.
Born at Winnipeg on 12 December 1917, son of ? Bentham and Ethel Elizabeth Marsh, he joined the Winnipeg Free Press after leaving school, interrupting his employment to serve with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. After his military discharge, he worked for a period of years as a general reporter then wrote the column “Outdoors” for more than 25 years. It was the first column devoted solely to hunting and fishing to be published in a Winnipeg newspaper. He continued to write the column after leaving the newspaper to work in wholesale sporting goods, first for 17 years with John Martin Sporting Goods and, as of 1964, as the advertising manager of Marr's Marine. On 19 April 1941, he married Phyllis Sarah Scott (c1918-2001) and they subsequently had two sons. The family lived at 281 Moray Street in St. James. He died at the Grace Hospital on 17 November 1968 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
