Memorable Manitobans: Timothy Francis “Tim” Ball (1938-2022)Professor, climatologist. Born in England on 5 November 1938, he received a secondary education there before coming to Canada. He received a BA degree (Honours) from the University of Winnipeg, an MA degree from the University of Manitoba, and a PhD degree from Queen Mary College, University of London. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a navigator for eight and a half years. He taught geography, and specifically climatology, at the University of Winnipeg from 1971 until retirement in 1996, during which time he was controversial for his public denial of anthropogenic climate change. He died at Victoria, British Columbia on 24 September 2022. His articles for the Manitoba Historical Society:
