John Adrian Ashley

Educator.
Born at Boissevain on 7 August 1902, son of William Henry Ashley and Margaret Ann Hahn (1863-?), he was the Principal of Miami School (1934-1938) and Brooke School (1948-1956, 1958-1968). He was President of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society (1954-1955). From 1956 to 1958, he taught the children of Canadian military personnel in West Germany.
On 11 August 1934, he married Kathleen Moore Best (c1907-1985) at Winnipeg and they subsequently had a daughter and a son. He died at the Victoria Hospital on 5 October 1987.
