Memorable Manitobans: Rocky Addison (c1938-1998)

Boxer, philanthropist.

A former Manitoba-Ontario heavyweight champion boxer, he moved to Brandon during the late 1960s to open a boxing club. He was later a fitness trainer and coach for the Brandon Wheat Kings hockey team. For more than a dozen years, he and his family organized and hosted Christmas dinners for Brandon’s poor.
