In 1880, the Waight brothers established a brick yard at Morris. They hired Mr. A. Ross as the foreman to oversee their operation. By September 1880, they had fired 70,000 bricks, some of which were used that year in the construction of a new school at Morris. However, by August 1882, the Waight brick yard was no longer listed in a directory for the local Morris industry.
