Memorable Manitobans: Provisional Government of Manitoba / Legislative Assembly of Assiniboia (1870)

A Legislative Assembly, formed by Louis Riel’s Provisional Government in 1870, met between 9 March and 24 June. Its members were, in alphabetical order, are listed below. Louis Riel was elected President and William Coldwell was appointed Clerk. Three men were selected to go to Ottawa as representatives of the Assembly: John Black, Rev. Joseph-Noel Ritchot, and Alfred Henry Scott.
