Historic Sites of Manitoba: St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church (Kerrs Lake, Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson)

In the late 1920s, Joseph Baraniuk donated one acre on SE2-18-17 in what is now the Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson for the construction of a Ukrainian Catholic church. Logs from what would later become Riding Mountain National Park were cut into lumber at Hemmingson’s sawmill. Construction on the church and bell tower was started in 1928, and completed the following year.
