Historic Sites of Manitoba: Sargent Building / Roberta Apartments (668 Sargent Avenue, Winnipeg)

This three-storey brick building on Sargent Avenue at the southwest corner of Agnes Street in Winnipeg, measuring 97 feet by 43 feet, was designed by architect Thomas Logan Kerr and built in 1913 by Lindal Josafat Hallgrimson at a cost of about $50,000. The main floor had four commercial spaces while the upper floors had eight residential apartments. Originally named the Sargent Building, it was renamed Roberta Apartments in the late 1930s.
