A wooden grain elevator in Russell, on the CNR Rossburn Subdivision in what is now the Municipality of Russell-Binscarth, was built by Manitoba Pool Elevators in late 1974 to replace an elevator destroyed by fire on 5 March 1974. It opened officially on 30 January 1975. Closed by Agricore in 2001 and sold to local interests, the off-track facility remains in use for private grain storage.
