Historic Sites of Manitoba: Park Theatre (Wasagaming, Riding Mountain National Park)

The Park Theatre in Riding Mountain National Park, a provincially-designated historic site, was constructed between 1936 and 1937. Built of peeled logs and fieldstone, it is believed to be the only log cinema in all of Canada. Its auditorium features exposed log beams with decorative wrought ironwork. A commemorative plaque, erected in 1995 by the Manitoba Heritage Council, stands near the Wigwam Restaurant.
