This Ukrainian Catholic church at Cowan, in the Rural Municipality of Mountain, was built between 1951 and 1952, replacing an earlier structure from 1918. Paintings, a bell, and other artifacts were moved into the new church. Monthly Ukrainian Catholic services were celebrated with priests from Sifton until 1949. The building was also used for Roman Catholic services. As population of the area declined, the frequency of services decreased. Today, an annual service is held.
