Founded in 1919 at this site in Dand, in what is now the Municipality of Deloraine-Winchester, Dand School consolidated two rural schools from the surrounding area: Chain Lakes School No. 783 and Luther School No. 1018. Originally a two-classroom structure, in the fall of 1958, a third classroom was added. In 1964, students in grades 9 to 11 were bused to Deloraine so the school dropped back to two active classrooms. The brick school building is no longer present at the site but a monument erected in June 1970 commemorates it.
