Historic Sites of Manitoba: Cypress Valley School No. 394 (RM of Argyle)The Cypress Valley School District was established formally in April 1885, with a building was erected in the northeast quarter of 24-6-13 west of the Principal Meridian, in the Rural Municipality of Argyle. In 1910, the original building was replaced by a wood frame structure. The school closed in January 1958 and its students went to Cypress River Consolidated School No. 2357. As of 1986, the building was still standing on its original site and being used as a granary. It was demolished in July 2002. Among the teachers of Cypress Valley School were Joan Aileen Swindell (1944-1945), Dorothy Ellen Turnbull (1945-1946), Irene Roberts (1954-1955), and Rudolph Reimer (1957-1958).
