A monument at Brookdale, in the Municipality of North Cypress-Langford, was erected in commemoration of soldiers from the local area area killed in the First World War, Second World War, and Korean War. Each side of the monument is inscribed for a community: Oberon, Ingelow, Mentmore, and Brookdale. Also listed are veterans from each of the communities who served in these conflicts but who returned home alive.
