A wooden grain elevator in Altamont, on the CNR Miami Subdivision in the Municipality of Lorne, was built in 1925 by United Grain Growers, replacing an earlier elevator built by the Dominion Elevator Company and leased by the Manitoba government. Closed in 1993, it was demolished the following year.
