Memorable Manitobans: George B. Wilson (c1846-1899)Educator. Born in Ontario around 1846, he graduated from the Ontario Normal School and later came to Manitoba were he served as Principal of the West Treherne School No. 537. Married with four children, his death at Treherne, on 17 August 1899, was lamented as “a distinct loss to the cause of education in this province”. Sources:1891 Canada census, Ancestry.
