Memorable Manitobans: Frank Hilary Wiley (1879-1953)
Born at Barrie, Ontario on 12 August 1879, son of Irish immigrants John Dickson Wiley and Jenny Holliday, he came to Winnipeg in 1905 where he established the import and manufacturing agency business of Frank H. Wiley Limited, specializing in bakery and institutional supplies, and industrial chemicals. On 13 April 1910, he married Martha Anne McKenzie (1881-1964) and they had three children: Frank McKenzie Wiley (1911-?), Eileen Margaret Wiley (1913-?, wife of ? Cornell), and Malcolm Leslie Wiley (1915-1958). He retired from business in 1930 and moved to British Columbia in 1936. He died at Vancouver on 10 February 1953.
