In commercial business, Liverpool, England, 1883-1892. Came to Canada, 1892, and engaged in private banking in British Columbia, 1893-1903; entered service of Royal Bank of Canada, 1903, when private bank was taken over by that institution; manager Winnipeg Branch, 1908; appointed western supervisor in 1910.
