Artist, musician, professor.
Born at Canora, Saskatchewan on 13 February 1944, daughter of Alice and Oswald Werner, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba (1965), Master of Arts degree in Psychology from the North Dakota State University in Fargo (1969), and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks (1973).
She taught at the post-secondary level in North Dakota (1969-1974) before returning in the latter year to Winnipeg as an Associate Professor in the School of Art at the University of Manitoba. She taught courses in introductory and second-year drawing and was one of the first women in the School of Art to be granted tenure, in 1979.
She exhibited her prints at the Plug In Gallery and Gallery 111, and performed her electronic music and dance in the late 1980s. Her travels around North America, Central America, and England led to an interdisciplinary PhD degree in History and Religion from the University of Manitoba (1998). She collaborated with colleagues in Mathematics in a course on the application of mathematics in art that she taught until retirement in 2005.
She died unmarried at Winnipeg on 29 January 2026 and was buried in the town cemetery at Canora, Saskatchewan.
