Memorable Manitobans: Robert Wemyss (1824-1903)
Wholesale merchant. Born in Scotland on 16 August 1824, he came to Canada as a young man. He resided at Winnipeg for a time before homesteading in western Manitoba. He also worked as a wholesale merchant at Reaburn. Father of John Wemyss. He died at Reaburn on 25 November 1903 and was buried in the Ossawo Cemetery.
