Memorable Manitobans: Harold Edward Welch (c1929-1990)
Zoologist.
Born at Toronto, Ontario and educated at the University of Toronto, he became a research officer at the Entomological Research Institute at Belleville, Ontario. In 1965, he moved to Winnipeg to become a member of the Department of Zoology at the University of Manitoba, serving as its Head from August 1965 to July 1980. He died at Winnipeg on 6 May 1990.
