Memorable Manitobans: Augustus R. “Gussie” Wade (1860-1935)Born in Ireland on 4 February 1860, he emigrated to Canada in 1879 and worked for a time at the Federal Bank. When the bank suspended operations in Canada in the late 1880s, he joined the Dominion crown timber and lands office in Winnipeg.
