Poet.
Born at Winnipeg on 23 December 1917, she spent her early life in the city and also in Ottawa. She attended the University of Toronto and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1939, before going on to Pennsylvania to take her Masters of Social Work in 1945. She worked as a social worker in Toronto and Montreal, and taught at York University in Toronto. Waddington was a life member of the League of Canadian Poets. She published many books of poetry including The Last Landscape, The Glass Trumpet, and Say Yes. An excerpt from her poem Jacques Cartier in Toronto is reprinted on the Canadian 100 Dollar Bill.
