Memorable Manitobans: Harriet Van Slooten (1910-1965)YWCA official. Born in Holland, she was a leader in the Dutch underground during the Second World War. In 1952 she immigrated to Canada and became an executive director of the YWCA, first in Brantford and latterly in Winnipeg, where she died.
