Our inspiration for creating the Memorable Manitobans collection is summarized by a quote from author David M. Eagleman in his 2009 book Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives:
There are three deaths. The first is when the body ceases to function. The second is when the body is consigned to the grave. The third is that moment, sometime in the future, when your name is spoken for the last time.
We hope that by raising awareness of the many people contained in Memorable Manitobans, they will never suffer a third death.
