Memorable Manitobans: H. N. Thompson (?-1953)Veterinarian, municial official. Born in Ontario, he came to Manitoba with his parents, living first at Boissevain where he began working as a veterinarian in 1906 and, as of 1912, at Virden. He served on the Virden municipal council (1917-1918, 1941) and was Mayor of Virden three times (1919-1921, 1942-1946, 1952-1953).
