Memorable Manitobans: Joseph Tessier (1891-1948)Beekeeper. Born in Quebec, he came to Manitoba as a young man, living at Elm Creek and Starbuck before settling in St. Pierre in 1923. He was a prominent fur farmer and beekeeper and one of the founders of the Manitoba Co-operative Honey Producers Association. He also served as a local school trustee and councillor for the Municipality of De Salaberry.
