Memorable Manitobans: John Donald Steel (?-2010)Civil servant, municipal official. He served as parks superintendent for the City of St. James, prior to its merger into Winnipeg. He later served on the Winnipeg city council, from 1986 to 1989. He died of cancer at Winnipeg on 10 March 2010. He is commemorated by John Steel Park in Winnipeg.
