Memorable Manitobans: Nicholas “Niel” Slykerman (c1936-2000)
Community activist.
Born in the Netherlands, his “pro-life” views were founded in his belief that human life originates with conception. He advocated those views as President of Campaign Life Coalition in Manitoba. He died of cancer at Winnipeg on 26 September 2000 and was buried in St. Vital Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery.
