Memorable Manitobans: Frederick Joseph Simpson (1913-1969)Manager, municipal official. Born at Bernice, Manitoba in 1913, he served overseas during the Second World War and returned from England to live at Virden. He moved to Elkhorn in 1946 to manage a succession of petroleum product dealerships. He served as Mayor of Elkhorn from 1968 to his death in 1969.
