Memorable Manitobans: Minnie Isabelle Reekie

Journalist.

Born at Kincardine, Ontario, daughter of John and Annie Sinclair Reekie, she was educated at public schools of Kincardine. She came to Manitoba in 1889 and moved from Winnipeg to Brandon in 1908 to become Secretary to the Principal of Brandon College. From 1897 to 1909, she was Business Manager and Editor of the Women’s Page in “The Western Outlook”. In 1910, she moved to Kelowna, British Columbia.
