Memorable Manitobans: David Peregrine (1955-1989)

Ballet dancer.

Born David Evans in Llay, Wales, he moved to Ottawa as a child. He trained at the Nesta Tournaine School in Ottawa, the Banff School of Fine Arts, and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet school. He made his debut at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in 1975 and became noted as a partner for Evelyn Hart. He died while flying his own airplane when it crashed in Alaska.
