Memorable Manitobans: Allan Moore (?-2007)

Accountant, community activist.

Born at Hamilton, Ontario, he later moved to Winnipeg where his successful career as a chartered accountant culminated in 2005 with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Manitoba Institute of Chartered Accountants. He volunteered with a number of charities and institutions, including the Manitoba Opera, L’Arche, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In 1973, he was Chairman of the United Way campaign. He died at Toronto, Ontario on 6 January 2007 and was buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
