Raymond Mitchell (1897-1984)

Born in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba on 6 October 1897, he was educated at Grandview and worked as a farmer and rancher. After serving for a period as Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Grandview, he was elected President of the Union of Manitoba Municipalities in 1949, resigning mid-way through a two-year term to seek election to the Manitoba Legislature.

He died on 15 June 1984.
