Farmer, municipal official.

Born in Scotland on 29 April 1856, he married Isabella Sangster on 19 October 1892 at Minnedosa. They had three children: Hazel, Donald, and James. He farmed near Neepawa, Manitoba. He served as Reeve of the Municipality of Langford from 1897 to 1902. He died on 18 February 1921.
