The Manitoba Hospital Commission was established on 1 July 1962 to administer hospital services in the province. The five-member Commission reported to the Minister of Health.

On 21 October 1970, the Manitoba Hospital Commission merged with the Manitoba Health Services Insurance Corporation to become the Manitoba Health Services Commission.
