Memorable Manitobans: George William Macdonald (1875-?)Implement dealer, municipal official. Born at Lucknow, Ontario, 1875. Son of Donald and Mary (MacKenzie) MacDonald. Married Miss Taylor, 1915; was educated at the Country Schools, Kincardine High School. Scotch ancestry; family came to Ontario from Prince Edward Island, and settled at Kinloss, Bruce county. Mayor MacDonald taught school in Ontario and came West in 1906. Entered the employ of Charles Brown, implement dealer, later purchased the business. Elected to Manitoba Legislature, 1915, 1920. Mayor, 1924-25. Member of IOOF, Past Noble Grand, Lodge 17, Boissevain. Member of Masonic Fraternity. Elder of the Presbyterian Church. Liberal. Address, Boissevain, Manitoba.
