Memorable Manitobans: Robert King (1856-1924)Pioneer, farmer. Born at Bayfield, Ontario in 1856, he came to Manitoba in 1882 and settled at McConnell two years later. He was active in affairs of the community and the church, serving as a trustee of the Viola Dale school board for fifteen years, in addition to being a successful farmer.
