Memorable Manitobans: Donald “Don” Hunter (1941-2019)

Entertainer, manager.

Born on 22 February 1941, he sang in nightclubs around Winnipeg while doing odd jobs during the day. In the mid-1960s, he became manager to The Guess Who and was named “Manager of the Year” by RCA. After the band broke up, he moved to a small farm at Grand Marais before going to Abbotsford, British Columbia. He returned in Manitoba in 2003 and died on 16 October 2019.
