Memorable Manitobans: John Coleman Hogarth (1855-?)
Farmer.
Born at Exeter, Ontario, 20 July 1855. Came to Manitoba, May 1879. Homesteaded NE 22-2-10. Farms 320 acres. Married Eliza Jane Walker, 1883. Has one son and two daughters. School Trustee for years. First Chairman of Board to form first School District Willowdale, 309, now removed to. Purvis. Kept a stopping place on the old common trail before the railway was built. Methodist. Address, Purvis, Manitoba.
