Memorable Manitobans: Thomas Cooper Hindson (1852-1934)
Born in Yorkshire, England in September 1852, son of William Hindson (?-?) and Ann Cooper (1824-1904), he came to Canada with his family in 1860 and lived in Ontario. Between 1903 and 1908, he lived at Winnipeg and worked as a building contractor in partnership with his nephew William James Davidson (1879-1969). On 18 September 1884, he married Letitia Stewart (1856-1928) at Sarawak Township, Ontario and they subsequently had two children: Robert Hindson (1884-?) and May Hindson (1886-?). At the time of the 1911 census, the family was living at Owen Sound, Ontario. He is believed to have died at Vancouver, British Columbia on 10 February 1934.
